There is a growing recognition that achieving third grade success requires a strong continuum of support starting with prenatal development through third grade (P-3). Oregon’s Early Learning Division and Department of Education are partnering with The Children’s Institute, Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), The Ford Family Foundation, and Portland State University to support this work in communities throughout Oregon.
Together, we are proud to announce the launch of a new P-3 Resource Website. This site will provide communities, early learning providers, K-3 educators, and families with useful tools and information to support local P-3 efforts that are currently underway, and hopefully, inspire more communities to join in Oregon’s growing P-3 movement.
The site provides resources for educators, early learning providers, families, and policymakers, as well as general information about P-3. Additionally, the site highlights P-3 efforts that are currently taking place in communities throughout Oregon through the state’s Early Learning Kindergarten Readiness Partnership & Innovation Program, P-3 grants funded by OCF, The Ford Family Foundation and others, as well Children’s Institute’s Early Works Demonstration Sites and Campaign for Grade Level Reading Communities.
To access these tools and resources or to learn about local P-3 efforts underway in communities throughout Oregon, please visit the new site here.
